Any time I watch a movie, I like to think about when it was made. I watched some of The 10 Commandments last week and when it mentions race and slavery, you know it was carrying a meaning leading into the Civil Rights era. Casablanca, if you watch that but don't know about World War II, it might be half as good. Etc etc. :) Same with art, the time makes the art, the art makes the times.

The same is also true for scientists. Many scientific studies are infused with the scientists’ own biases from the beginning—often points of view that are largely accepted as fact at the time. For example, there were once studies that concluded smoking is good for you! All the information we consume is filtered through someone else, and humans have a tendency to overlook their own biases. Love this review. So important to remember as we do our own research and search for truth.
